OPTIONAL WINTER GARDEN SERVICE
UV water treatment in Winter Garden
UV water treatment uses ultraviolet light to inactivate microorganisms as water passes through a treatment chamber. For a Winter Garden home, it is an optional treatment step chosen for a specific water concern—not a substitute for a softener, reverse osmosis or following a utility advisory.
Optional upgrade. Quoted separately, not included in the $2,999* softener + RO package.
Discuss my installation ↗What does UV do—and what does it leave behind?
A properly selected and maintained UV system can address microbial treatment needs without adding a chemical disinfectant at the chamber. Its effectiveness depends on the selected system, water clarity, lamp condition and flow rate. It does not remove hardness minerals, dissolved salts or chemical contaminants, and it is not intended to solve a chlorine taste preference. No particular equipment certification or reduction claim is promised before a model is selected.
UV treats water passing through it; it does not leave a protective disinfectant residual in downstream plumbing. A glowing lamp alone is not proof of adequate treatment. Discuss monitoring, alarms and the response to a power loss or equipment fault before choosing a system.
Does a Winter Garden city-water home need UV?
Not automatically. Start by identifying the water provider shown on your bill and the issue you want to address. The City of Winter Garden water-quality report describes utility monitoring; it does not establish that every house needs UV. An address or taste complaint is not evidence of a microbial problem.
For a private well or a specific contamination concern, discuss appropriate testing and a treatment plan before selecting equipment. Follow current utility or public-health instructions during an advisory. Installing UV is not permission to disregard those instructions, and we do not promise that an unspecified system makes any source safe.
Installation qualification: clarity, flow and access
Our sales team confirms installation requirements through questions established with our plumbers. Tell us about the water source, existing treatment, accessible plumbing, available power and equipment space. No separate pre-installation visit is required. Water testing may still be needed to choose suitable treatment; that is different from a preliminary installation visit.
Sizing must account for peak household flow and the manufacturer’s inlet-water requirements. Suspended particles can interfere with UV exposure; hardness or other deposits can foul the sleeve. Pre-treatment may be required. The layout also needs clearance to remove the lamp and sleeve for service, not just enough room to mount the chamber.
UV maintenance and running costs
Plan for electricity use, lamp replacement, sleeve cleaning and inspection of any alarm or sensor. Follow the selected manufacturer’s schedule rather than assuming that a lamp lasts until it stops lighting. Water conditions affect cleaning needs. Ask for the replacement part numbers, access requirements and expected ongoing costs in writing.
If the system loses power, signals a fault or needs service, follow the manufacturer’s operating instructions and the treatment plan for your water source. Do not bypass a system relied on for microbial treatment and assume the untreated water has the same quality.
How is the UV add-on priced?
UV is priced separately; no add-on price has been established here. The $2,999* base package is a whole-home salt-based softener plus under-sink RO with standard installation at a suitable city-water home. It does not include UV, pre-treatment needed for UV or nonstandard plumbing or electrical work.
Request a written quote identifying the UV model, any pre-treatment, installation work, applicable taxes and warranty terms. Winter Garden Water Filtration handles equipment arrangements and customer communication and coordinates installation with a local plumber. A request is a conversation, not a booking or payment.
